The last year of the Hale's life

In September Kassie and Joe returned to BYU-Idaho so Joe could finish up his college education. They were able to stop by for a short visit with Jason in Mesa, AZ on their way back to Idaho so Joe could meet Jason.
Kassie took on a couple of small jobs while in Idaho, and Joe worked hard on his education. In April 2011, we were able to attend Joe's graduation from BYU-Idaho where he received his degree in Art Illustration.
They are currently living in Pingree, Idaho with Joe's mom while they look for employment.

Here are a few pictures of Joe's graduation, etc....

Kassie is officially now Kasaundra Lynne Hale

It was quite an experience, and alot of emotions but on Friday, April 23, 2010 Kassie and Joe were married in the Houston LDS Temple. It was a very emotional day but a wonderful day as well. I will need to go back a few days for those that don't know of what happened before the wedding.

On Monday, April 19th, we received word that Joe's father had unexpectedly passed away. We were all devasted at the news and put the wedding on hold until family had time to get their thoughts together. But after the family talked, it was decided to go ahead with the wedding as planned, and the family flew out on Wednesday (April 21st) as scheduled.
The temple sealing was a very special time with family and friends. And we definitely felt Joe's dad's spirit there.
We had a beautiful reception afterwards with many family and friends.

The Idaho reception was then rescheduled for May 8th, as the family all returned home for the funeral services for Joe's dad.
May 8th, was a wonderful reception in Pingree Idaho and it was great being with Joe's family and friends he had grown up with.
A beatuiful wedding.....

hmmm, do I need to change the title?

I think it may be time to change the title of this page as Kassie is no longer at BYU-Idaho. Her official diploma came in the mail on Saturday, so she is glad to know that she REALLY is a BYU-I graduate!

Kassie is keeping busy being a waitress at Chili's. She also just got a job as a graphic designer for a T-shirt company. Yeah, imagine that, she is ACTUALLY USING THAT DEGREE WE PAID FOR!!!

Poor Joe is out here trying desperately to find a job, but jobs now a days are hard to come by. He has a few leads, so hopefully.......

In the meantime, we are up to our ears in Wedding Plans!

On Wednesday, February 10th, we took Kassie through the Houston, Texas LDS Temple. It was a wonderful experience for her and we all had a great time! Afterwards we all went to dinner. It was a very special day for all of us.

That about updates Kassie. Just busy working and wedding plans.....

The Ring came in and the Date is Set!

The night before we were to fly home from Graduation, the offical engagement/wedding ring Joe designed and had made for Kassie, finally arrived. So he proposed to her a second time in Blackfoot, Idaho.
The wedding date is now officially set. Joe and Kassie will be married and sealed for time and all eternity, in the Houston, Texas LDS Temple on Friday April 23, 2010.
A reception will be held in South Shore Texas that evening and another reception will be held in Blackfoot, Idaho on May 1st.

She's Graduated!!!

December 15, 2009 the family all flew to Salt Lake City and then drove on to Rexburg, Idaho to attend Kassie's graduation from BYU-Idaho. Yes! She finally did it. She is now offically a BYU-I Alumni. Graduation covered two days, December 18 and 19th. It was great being in Idaho with her. The weather cooperated and the roads stayed clear! Kaydee really wanted snow, but that didn't happen!
Congratulations Kassie, we are proud of you!!!
She officially graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. Her major was Integated Arts, with Emphasis in Graphic Design. And also a minor in Music. Job well done!

She's Engaged!

(Taken from a letter written to Jason)
"Joe proposed to me on Saturday night! (November 14, 2009) I'm engaged! He sent me on a scavenger hunt. His friend Mike came by with a note card that had an oragami rose on it, and a message. On the front it had a clue to get to the next one (which was where we had our first date at the Coa Coa Bean), and on the back was a Russian word. So I went to the Coa Coa Bean, and there was a cup of hot chocolate sitting on one of the tables with another one of the little cards propped up against it. That one I thought said to go to the "closest movies", so I went to the theater at the next block. I couldn't find another card, so I asked the people who worked there if they had seen a card like the ones I was holding, but no one had. Man, I had everyone looking for a note card for like 10 or 15 minutes, but we never found one. I had left my phone at the apt, so I had to run back and get it so I could call Joe. I called him, and told him that I couldn't find it, and he explained the card actually said "closet movies", meaning the movies at his apt, which he kept in their living room closet. Ha ha! Yeah, so anyways.... Went there, and found the next card which led me back to my apartment which was where we had our first kiss. Then I went to the Spori (the art building on campus) down in what we call the "dungeon" (the basement), in the computer lab, which is where I spend most of my time doing homework. Then went to the Hinckley building where we go to dances. And finally ended up back at the Spori, this time on the third floor, where we hang up a lot of the artwork. When I got there, the last card said, "so did you figure it out?" And then Joe came walking around the corner, and asked if I figured out the message (all the Russian words on the back of the note cards. I only knew a couple of the words, "you" and "me" haha! so I asked him what the other words were, and they of course all spelled out "will you marry me?" Then he got down on one knee and proposed. I said yes, and he gave me a ring. Joe designed a ring for me, but it isn't done yet, so he got another ring for me to wear for now. It's silver with inlaid turquoise stones. So yeah, that's pretty much the story. The whole time Joe was proposing, his friend Mike took pictures of it."

So, that is the latest on Kassie.
Joe is really Joseph Hale. He lives just outside of Blackfoot, Idaho and served in the same mission as Kellie's husband Alex. Joe and Alex actually have known each other for years, but did not know that each other was at BYU-Idaho. So, no, this was NOT A setup. Just a very weird coinsidence!
No wedding date or place yet, but will let you know as soon as it is figured out.
